Open Seminar
Changing models of social service provision and the impact on working conditions for the social service professions.
Sted: Pilestredet 35, PI 447 Tid: 09:15
Across Europe, social services, including health and educational services, are subjected to profound restructuring. Occurring at different pace, and from very different points of departure, one can observe attempts to increasingly involve the private and the voluntary sector in the delivery of services. This seminar aims at exploring recent European trends. With a particular focus upon Nordic, Southern European and British experiences in the field of care work, the seminar addresses the impacts of this restructuring on the working conditions for the social service professions.
The seminar is organized by Oslo and Akershus University College, The Work Research Institute and Norwegian Social Research in a collaboration with COST Action IS1102 "Social Services, Welfare State and Places."
