Do you need help with your studies?
The Learning Centre and Library offers learning support to all students. Here you can seek help regarding writing academic texts, study techniques and coping with stress.
Drop-in supervision
You can seek supervision on:
- What is expected of a college university student
- Teaching and learning methods at OUC
- Study techniques
- Working with academic text and writing of papers
- Other matters or challenges regarding your situation as a student
Drop-in when it suits you during opening hours, or make an appointment by sending a mail to: studieverkstedet@hioa.no
We supervise both individuals and groups.
Supervision - special needs
Every third Tuesday a supervisor in special learning needs is available at Campus Pilestredet. Students with dyslexia or other difficulties in reading, writing and learning can get guidance on study techniques and information about various tools (e.g. software support).

Writing mentor
You can seek help from a writing mentor during any phase in your work with written assignments. The writing mentor has general knowledge about academic writing and is trained to give text reponse. We do no not proof read. You can come individually or in groups.

Introduction to Textpilot
We can give an introduction to Textpilot which is a digital support tool for people who have difficulty in reading printed text. Textpilot has speech synthesis, spell check, word prediction, opportunities for making your own customized dictionary and thesaurus.

Courses
Courses in study techniques, academic writing, ICT and coping with stress are all held in Norwegian. Most of the contents in these courses can be given to International students individually or in smaller groups. Contact Learning support.
