Oscar Westlund new professor at the Department of Journalism and Media Studies
Oscar Westlund has accepted a position as full professor at the Department of Journalism and Media Studies. Westlund, currently employed by the University of Gothenburg, has since he defended his PhD in January 2012 made an exceptional international career and is today, despite his young age, one of the most significant new voices in the international community of journalism studies.
Westlund has already made a massive impact within journalism studies, especially related to topics such as the digital transformation of journalism and mobile media. He was the head of research related to the recent Swedish Media Inquiry, and he is the next appointed Editor-in-Chief of the important journal Digital Journalism (Taylor & Francis).
