How to apply
Application procedures vary according to what kind of courses and programmes you would like to apply for.
Individual courses taught in English (for exchange students only):
The application deadline for fall semester 2013 has now passed.
Application deadline for applicants from the EU/EEA-area and the Nordic countries:
- Spring semester: 1 October
- Autumn semester: 15 April
Application deadline for applicants from outside the EU/EEA-area and the Nordic countries:
- Spring semester: 1 October
- Autumn semester: 1 February

Your application will not be considered without the following documentation. Please submit the documents by e-mail to application@hioa.no within the deadline :

Bachelor's Degree programmes:
Applications to undergraduate studies at HiOA are processed by the Universities and Colleges Admission Service (NUCAS). You apply by using the electronic application form available on NUCAS’ website. The application forms are in Norwegian only as the programmes are taught in Norwegian.
1-6 weeks after submitting your application, you will receive a letter from UCAS with additional forms to fill in, and with information on where to send your documentation.
Applicants must document all their relevant education with officially certified copies of certificates, diplomas, transcripts etc. in the original language and authorised translations if the original documents are not in English or a Scandinavian language. Both upper secondary and higher education must be documented. Applicants must fulfill all requirements before 1 July.
Application deadline:
1st March.
The letters of acceptance or rejection are sent to the applicants around 20 July. Qualified applicants who are not offered a study place may ask to be put on a waiting list in case there will be given additional offers later on.
If you want your former education evaluated in order to find out if you meet the admission requirements, you can send copies of your documentation to NUCAS. You can download the form for evaluation of former education from NUCAS’ website.
Master's Degree programmes
You will find information on how to apply to the Master's Degree programme of your choice. The application form contains guidelines for filling in the form, for supporting documents and the address to which you send your application. Officially certified copies (with stamp and signature) of examination certificates and testimonies must be enclosed to have the application for admission considered. Please note that it is the full responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary documentation. Education and work experience which is not documented will not be considered.
