The Study Buddy programme is a social offer for new international students. If you participate, you'll be matched with a local student who will help you with practical things and information about student life in Oslo/Kjeller at the beginning of your stay.
What kind of help can you expect?
- Some weeks after registration, you will be contacted by your Study Buddy by e-mail. He/she can answer any practical questions you might have before arrival.
- If needed, you can ask your Study Buddy for help on your arrival day. Remember, if you want to move into your apartment on your first day, you should arrive in good time before SIO's closing hours (otherwise you'll have to book a hotel).
- Apart from that, your Study Buddy will be a student contact for you during the first couple of days for information about things like public transport, shopping facilities, cafés with student-friendly prices etc.
What do you have to do?
You have to apply for a Study Buddy before 15 June (for Autumn semester)/1 November (for Spring semester). Go to the application form.
This service is free of charge.
