Space for local political action in housing policy and local development
The project consists of developing a system for KS' elected official program that gives local politicians research-based knowledge management and planning of sustainable communities. This means that the project will translate research on holistic urban and local development, including housing policy, a framework of understanding that increases local politicians awareness and knowledge of their role, autonomy and the qualities of urban and local development.
The need for political facilitated knowledge of holistic urban and local development grounded in the new social challenges. The emergence of network management, a greater diversity of preferences and needs of the population and new, complex challenges such as climate change (mitigation and adaptation to climate change) and public health. It adopted ambitious national goals for social development to respond to these challenges. How the future development of cities and places are, are crucial for the ability to achieve those goals.
